The Beautiful Garden Route

After my parents headed back to the states on Friday, (Mar 3rd) Seth and I began our trip along the Garden Route. It's about a 5 1/2 hour scenic drive along the N2 to arrive to this region in the Western Cape. Along the way we passed Mossel Bay (the start of the Garden Route), George (the industrial and most major city of our route) and Wilderness before arriving in Knysna. Knysna is situated on a Lagoon (see picture) and is protected from the Indian Ocean by the Knysna Heads. We spent the two nights that we were there at a self catering apartment called Paradise Found. The apartments are clean and relatively basic, but the views are amazing. We took the picture above from our balcony.

During our days along the Garden Route, we spent time walking in the shallow and warm waters of the Lagoon, took in the breathtaking views of the Knysna Heads, explored some of the beaches in Plettenberg and did a Canopy Tree Top Tour in the Tsistikamma Forest near Storms River. We enjoyed our time in this region, before heading back to spend our last two days in Cape Town. Posted by Picasa
