The Producers... in ESPANOL!

Tonite Seth and I went to see the Producers, or Los Productores as its known here. It was definitely an interesting experience. The play itself was good, very well done and funny... at least the 75% that we understood of it was funny :). The interesting parts were the fact that the usher would not give us a program unless we gave him a tip. When I held my hand out for a program he said "esto no es un regalo" - this is not free. I noticed other people giving him a tip and in exchange he gave them a program. After a few minutes I went back up to him and asked him how much the program is. He told me one or two pesos, whatever I can. I gave him a peso and he gave me the program. Very interesting. Also, during the 15 minute intermission the audience cleared out into the lobby and the hallways. I stopped by the bathroom and after I came out the cloud of cigarette smoke was SOO thick that parts of it drifted into the theater.

Buenos Aires has a great theatre district that is centered around Avenida Corrientes. It is probably one of the top 5 theatre districts in the world with attending of plays being a popular social outlet.
